Marta Byrne Estudio de Paisajismo was formed in 1999 and is based in Madrid (Spain) with a support office in Lisbon (Portugal). It relies on a small young team, whose previous individual backgrounds influenced our working philosophy and future development guide lines.

In short years of working, the office has been involved on a considerable number of projects national and international, varying both in scale and context and including a wide range of site and urban planning, site urban and landscape design, corporate / University facilities, and residential design, placed in natural, urban and historical environments.

On our working process, a constant dialog with the client is necessary to establish functional, aesthetics, creative and budget parameters that will guide the project from the conceptual design till the construction stage. The decision process reflects the constant exchange occurring with clients, architects and consulting.

Our high level of responsiveness, reliability and personal contact, are constant facts both in individual projects and team working. The permanent collaboration in multidisciplinary teams have led us to long-standing relations with national and international architect and engineering offices.

Considering the current amount of work and the new commissions, the office is planning to expand with a view to increase the production assuring the same design and process quality.

Marta Byrne directs the design of each project in the office and guides the next project stages. She has been practicing for the last 15 years acting in many different areas of her profession, including urban / Site planning, environmental planning and landscape design. She formed a small landscape project office in 1999. Her previous experience was gained working on project coordination and consulting for another landscape and architecture firms. She is member of the Portuguese Landscape Architects association (APAP) and Spanish Landscape Design association (AEP).

Mainly focused on the urban scope, she constantly seeks the perfect harmony between the new action and the existing environment. The complete knowledge and understanding of the architectural project or existing building and site, is the starting point for the designing process.
